MkII Steel Helmet, RE, Beach Group, Overpaint

Standard MkII helmet, early type liner marked '6 3/4, BMB, I/1939', shell stamped 'JSS 1939'. To the left side a painted flash of the Royal Engineers, the outer shell has had a darker khaki overpaint at some time, under this you can make out the white band from use in a Beach Group unit, you can also see where it has previously been fitted with a net. Overall in very good condition, complete with its original chin strap.
