Officer’s Folding Bed in case, Interesting Unit

Standard wooden X frame folding bed with canvas top, some stamps on the cross braces ‘CA275’, possibly of Indian origin. Housed in what I think is an aerial case, repurposed by this officer with his name, unit id number and colour code on the side. There were several men with the name ‘D.H. Evans’ in the Army List but the unit code identifies this as an RASC unit within 40th Division, a deception force that operated in Sicily and Italy. Later in the campaign taking over some railway transportation and communications duties.
