Nice example of a standard service dress cap from an Indian tailor, diamond label inside on silky lining, sweatband marked ‘Real Calf Leather’. Fitted with an Indian type cast brass cap badge with slider that has had a bronze finish applied and bronze RE pattern buttons on the leather chin strap. Khaki wool General Service cap fitted with an economy plastic cap badge for the Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers, badge has a Perspex backing. Maker marked S&P Harris Ltd and dated 1944, soldiers initials and numbers added in indelible pencil. Has a few small holes but otherwise a nice example read more
WW2 Tam O’Shanter, Highland Light Infantry
Khaki tos with insignia for the HLI, white metal badge with tartan backing cloth. Feint maker marks inside for A&J Gelfer, Glasgow, size 6 1/2, obscured date but WD stamp has ‘Z’ for 1945 production. Very good used condition, the cap has also had a piece of stiff wire inside around the circumference to give it shape. read more
