Officer’s Battledress, Bedfs & Herts
40 austerity pattern jacket with insignia to a Captain in the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment attached to the 7th Armoured Division. Embroidered pips on the epaulette and on each sleeve, printed shoulder titles, embroidered formation signs, and red arm of service strips, there are also five War Service chevrons on the right cuff. The collar has been tailored to be worn open with shirt and tie. No visible label or date stamps but the presence of two interior pockets and brown buttons would indicate around 1942/3. There is also an O/Rs service number in pen on the waistband, possibly obtained a wartime commission. Overall in very good condition but with some wear etc.
